The Glee-kly Recap: 5 Episodes Until “Goodbye” and We’re a little “Choke”d Up!

Hola Gleeks!

Another week is upon us and I come to the realization today that there are only 5 episodes left until the end of the season, including tonight’s all new episode “Choke”. The previews have let us know that this week we will meet Puck’s father so we may get a rare Puck-centric story. I’ve also peeked at the tracklisting and checked out one of the First Listen Friday recordings and someone will be doing one of my very favorite songs by the Church of Pop’s Lady of Broken Hearts: Kelly Clarkson. Needless to say, I am stoked.

In case you didn’t catch last week’s Whitney Houston tribute… (Here’s what you missed, on GLEE!)

Let’s get on with it, then?

The Glee-kly Recap: “Big Brother” Makes a Few Mistakes, but All Ends Well.

Welcome back, Gleeks! (Do you like the new feature logo?)

After an excruciating 7 week hiatus, we’re promised that the last 7 episodes of Season 3 will air consecutively with no re-runs until the end of the season. Additionally, season 4 was officially announced today via FOX and the show’s stars on Twitter. I didn’t realize that it hadn’t already been renewed and I don’t think it was likely to be cancelled just yet, but still – we have that to look forward to!

All in all, today is a great day for Gleeks. Well unless the episode sucks, I suppose.

In case you can’t remember where we left off…

(Here’s what you missed, on GLEE!)

This episode, entitled “Big Brother” promises to reveal the outcome of Finn & Rachel’s wedding as well as Quinn’s fate after what appears to be a rather serious car accident which served as the cliff hanger for the last aired episode. Also, we are to be introduced to Blaine’s older brother, played by guest star: Matt Bomer.

Without further ado, let’s dive in!

T.V.D. Recap: Our Town; It’s My Party And I’ll Die If I Want To

The last time we talked, we were introduced to a new character, and learned that one of our favourites was about to leave. If you haven’t caught up on episodes yet, proceed with caution. There are spoilers lurking in these woods.

[Previously on the Vampire Diaries...]

I am still in love with this show. I have no excuse other than the fact that I recognize awesome when I see it. And I’m really overdue with this post, so as soon as I send it to the Messiah to post, I’m watching the newest episode. I can’t wait to find out what happened.

T.V.D. Recap: New Deal; Someone Comes To Town, Someone Leaves Town

Last week, my favourite supernatural teen soap opera returned.

Before the hiatus, the Salvatore brothers were tussling over which one was playing Angel and which one was Spike. I think Damon won. Take that as you will.

I am writing this while I watch. (I reserve the right to edit afterwards if it’s unintelligible.) Let’s just tear right into it, shall we?

The Glee-kly Recap: Everybody throws away their V-Card in “The First Time”

Another Tuesday is upon us and The Pop Gods have blessed us with an all new GLEE tonight on FOX. Being that I have been a shameless Gleek since its pilot episode, I couldn’t miss it!

Episode 5, entitled “The First Time” is already infamous in the media as the show’s cast revealed several weeks ago via the ever-hungry hype machine that the third season’s fifth episode would introduce a number of game-changing plot elements:

  • New Directions over-achievers Rachel & Kurt (and as it turns out; Blaine) were to lose their virginity. This is bound to piss off tonnes of right-wing “family” groups even if it’s done completely tastefully.
  • We were to see the return of the Dalton Academy Warblers, and with them; Sebastian (a new villain and hurdle for the freshly-happy Kurt and Blaine relationship) whom we shall hence forth refer to as the “Triflin’ Ho”.
  • The return of David Karofsky. Fans were left wondering after last season’s “Prom Queen” what had become of the tortured (and totally cute) football bully after he ran from the gymnasium in fear of accepting Kurt as the queen to his Prom King in front of the whole school. After Max Adler tweeted that Karofsky would return, anticipation built quickly about the resolution or at least contination of his story arc.
  • It’s finally time for “West Side Story”. The school musical is here and four of the episodes’ five musical numbers are from the show. (“Tonight Tonight”, “America”, “A Boy like That” and “One Hand, One Heart”). They are rounded out by the Warblers performing Billy Joel’s “Uptown Girl”.

Find out what I thought of “The First Time” as well as lots of Glee-cap action, after the break…
